Teacher Community Engagement Coordinator 


Are you interested in working outside of the classroom but want to stay in education? We have an exciting opportunity that would suit an experienced educator to join the ClassCover team to become our new Teacher Community Engagement Coordinator.


The role 

This is a full time role for a 6 month contract. You will be based in our offices located in Sydney's CBD and will be working closely with our Marketing and Communications Manager on all aspects of the Relief Teacher Association (RTA) and teacher community as a whole.  

Your focus will be to engage our 38,000 member strong teacher community through varying channels whilst also managing and organising the RTA's teacher professional development, organising relief teacher conferences and planning and running professional development webinars plus more. 


Your daily responsibilities

  • Working with Marketing Department to help plan the relief teacher conferences in Sydney, Perth and Brisbane 

  • Review existing PD courses, look for gaps and coordinate the creation of additional 

  • Engage presenters for conferences and RTA PD course library 

  • Working with presenters to help shape and structure courses 

  • Organise and run / co-host PD webinars 

  • Manage OOSH / work opportunities for RTA members by engaging teacher hiring companies 

  • Content creation for blogs, social media and email marketing 

  • Liaise with RTA partners and sponsors  

  • Find and develop relationships with new and potential sponsors 


Required skills

  • Experience in the education industry, preferably a teacher with 3+ years experience in the classroom 
  • Thorough understanding of the Australian Curriculum. 

  • A good understanding of the AITSL National Teacher Standards and NESA 

  • Excellent time management and organisational abilities 

  • Have a commitment and hunger for life-long learning and professional development 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Basic to intermediate excel skills 

  • Digitally savvy with an interest in education technology 

  • Ability to work autonomously with a can-do attitude 

  • Experience in managing all main social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest) a plus 

  • Previous experience in event management a plus
