Growth Mindsets
In this course you will:
- Understand the difference between growth mindsets vs fixed mindsets and how having a growth mindset in the classroom can support, engage and motivate students in their learning
- Learn how developing grit in students can improve their success in learning activities and build resilience
- Develop strategies such as visual tools and language that promote growth mindsets in the classroom to improve learning, self-efficacy and student well-being
Description
A Growth Mindset is important to support students to seek appropriately challenging learning and persevere in the face of obstacles they encounter in their lessons and activities.
In her second course with the Relief Teacher Association, Zebedee Freidman introduces us to growth mindset concepts and practices that support our students to be responsible risk takers and resilient learners.
A mix of down to earth delivery, practical content and fun activities awaits you in this course!

This course contributes to 1.5 professional development hours.
Completing optional “take home activities” during the course will up to double the duration of courses on the certificate. You should document your time spent on these optional activities as Teacher Identified PD.

Completing Growth Mindsets in the Classroom will contribute 1.5 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of student/child mental health addressing standard descriptor 4.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
