Autism Awareness Part 2
Managing Students with Autism
In this course you will learn
- How to build rapport quickly with students who are on the Autism Spectrum
- What not to do with children on the Autism Spectrum
- Behaviour Management and Strategies for the relief teacher
Description
Autism is a very complex condition and it is important for the Relief teacher to be knowledgeable about this condition. It is extremely daunting for any student to have someone in their classroom that they do not know, but it is even more problematic for students on the Autism Spectrum.
Your presence may cause anxiety, stress, frustration and even anger so it’s important for the Relief teacher to have behaviour management and strategies in their ‘toolbox’ in preparation for any scenario.
This course is part two of the Autism Awareness Series. See part 1 here
