A long-term partnership supporting schools and preschools centres statewide
ClassCover is proud to announce that it has been engaged by the South Australia Department for Education as the statewide platform for temporary relief teacher (TRT) bookings in all public schools and preschools.
From Term 1, 2026, all South Australian Department for Education schools and preschools will have access to ClassCover through a fully funded, 3+1 year contract with the department.
With more than 50% of South Australian public schools and preschools already using ClassCover to manage relief bookings, this statewide contract will only better serve schools and teachers of South Australia, allowing them save a significant amount of time and stress in the sourcing and management of TRTs.
The contract also signals the first enterprise contract for ClassCover in Early Learning and comes at a pivotal time in the sector. Educator transparency, visibility and compliance has never been more important. ClassCover will work with SA ECE’s to greatly improve systems without causing additional admin time for centre operators.
What this means for South Australia
The department’s announcement focuses on what matters most to schools and educators:
- One trusted, centrally funded platform for booking temporary relief teachers
- Faster, more consistent access to qualified and verified relief staff
- No platform fees or invoices for schools or preschools
- Support for both school and early childhood settings, recognising the full public education workforce
ClassCover connects sites with thousands of teachers, while giving teachers flexible ways to manage availability and receive bookings via app, SMS, or email.
Training, onboarding, and support will be provided throughout Term 1 to help sites not yet on ClassCover to get started.
“The team at ClassCover could not be prouder to add the South Australian DfE to our group of school systems that choose us to help manage relief staff. Pre-contract being agreed, we have already formed close ties with SA schools and the DfE by way of the 450+ schools that have used ClassCover for up to 10 years. In addition, our work with the DfE’s ‘Rural and Remote’ programme that leverages the power of ClassCover to deploy teachers into hard to staff areas has yielded excellent outcomes. We look forwarding to deepening our ties and working even more closely together.”

A growing national footprint
This South Australia Department for Education partnership builds on ClassCover’s long-standing work with education systems across Australia:
- New South Wales Department of Education, where ClassCover has been the contracted solution since 2018
- Queensland Department of Education, who signed a statewide agreement in July 2025, with rollout planned from Term 2, 2026
With South Australia joining Queensland and New South Wales, ClassCover is now engaged by over 50% of schools across Australia.
Looking ahead
These partnerships reflect a shared focus on reducing the time and stress involved in organising relief cover, while also helping relief educators access more work opportunities through greater visibility across schools.
