Access Hundreds of Lesson Plans—Created by Teachers, for Teachers

Non-profit organisation Ochre has built a massive database of lessons and resources for teachers right around Australia—and it’s all free.

Next time you find yourself supervising a class with little time to prepare and next to no knowledge of the subject area, head to the Ochre website and take your pick from their extensive catalogue of lessons and resources for teachers.

Working together with the Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO), Ochre has developed a database with everything from complete lesson plans, high-quality video lessons, to accompanying resources, including slides, worksheets, and quizzes, all with the goal of boosting learning outcomes for students across Australia.

So—what sort of lesson plans can you find on Ochre?

The organisation first launched their Teacher Hub with maths and english resources for primary aged kids between years 3-6. Here’s a look at what’s inside:

  • 100 high-quality video lessons for both english and maths
  • 400 additional resources including lesson slides, work sheets and quizzes
  • Lesson plans that are designed for teachers to pick and choose from — either use them as is or incorporate into existing lessons
Interested in working with Ochre to create lesson plans and other content for students across Australia?

Recently, Ochre have been working to expand their resources to cater to high-school students. Working with teachers to develop the lesson plans and resources, the Teacher Hub now has science-focused materials for years 7-10 including:

  • A sequenced curriculum map, designed to give teachers an understanding of the content, principles and units covered in the learnings
  • Downloadable and editable resources, so teachers can easily take aspects of any lesson to incorporate into their classes
  • A range of quizzes to help teachers assess students

Whether you are a relief teacher looking to add to your bag of tricks or a full-time teacher looking for ways to switch up your own planning, check out the Teacher Hub on Ochre.

Ochre is a non-profit organisation providing thousands of free educational resources to teachers and students across Australia. Their goal is to boost learning outcomes for students by providing open access to great teaching resources.
